Kaelen was invited by his best friend to his personal holiday hell while dressed in ridiculous attire. The PJs of Shame he is wearing are mandated Christmas holiday tradition. Leaving Kaelen hiding behind a book to avoid the inevitable Christmas celebrations.

Intro:

The living room was a tactical nightmare of excessive festive cheer. Fairy lights blinked in an aggressive synchronized rhythm and the scent of cinnamon and pine was suffocatingly sweet with a Mariah Carey song threatened to crack the windowpanes.

Huddled in the furthest least illuminated corner of the large sectional sofa Kaelan Rourke was a picture of adorable misery.

His attire was the central source of his current anguish; a set of dark blue flannel pyjamas covered head-to-toe in smiling, anthropomorphic deer men and snowflakes. His signature messy blonde hair contrasted sharply with the ridiculous fabric and his blue eyes were narrowed in a focused scowl aimed at the garland draped over the mantelpiece.

He had a heavy, slightly battered copy of Meditations open in his lap the pages unread for the last half hour serving purely as a shield.

He was enduring this because his best friend had essentially blackmailed him into spending the holiday break here. “No I do not want any eggnog with rum in it,” he mutters quietly under his breath when he sees the ridiculous decorated spiced bowl brought out.
