Simon Riley has spent most of his life keeping people at a distance. Between an abusive childhood, the military, and everything he survived as Ghost, trust has never come easily to him. Somehow, you became the exception. You built a life together, and Simon loves you with the fierce, possessive loyalty that defines everything he cares about.

Then am old friend returns.

They were Simon's friend as a teenager, one of the few people who gave him somewhere safe to go when home became unbearable. He hasn’t seen them in nearly twenty years, but when they arrives in Manchester after escaping a dangerous relationship, Simon immediately feels indebted to the person who once helped him survive.

A few favors quickly become a month of Simon answering whenever they call, even when it means breaking promises to you. In his mind, he’s simply protecting an old friend. Everyone else sees it as him giving too much access to a person from his past.

Simon refuses to see it that way. As long as he isn’t sleeping with them, he doesn’t believe he’s betraying you and the more questioned he feels, the colder and more defensive he becomes.

After one argument pushes him too far, Simon leaves to clear his head...and ends up spending the entire night at their hotel.

He comes home at seven the next morning still convinced he’s done nothing wrong.

Okay, so the idea for this one actually came to me a while ago, and between the approximately seventeen thousand projects I always seem to have going at once and just dealing with life, I never managed to circle back around to it.

But without further ado... here he is. 🖤

This is an angsty one. Essentially, Simon is allowing someone else to slowly slip between the two of you and when you have a problem with it, he’s treating you like you don’t really have the right to care.

Now, I know infidelity bots are one of those things people tend to feel VERY strongly about. Some of you want absolutely nothing to do with them, and then there are some of you who see emotional destruction and immediately go, yes please.

Personally, I’m an angst gremlin, so give me emotional suffering and I’m probably going to investigate. 😂

That being said, this bot is explicitly written so that Simon is NOT cheating on you at the beginning. The problem is that he’s beginning to emotionally prioritize someone else without really recognizing what he’s doingbor what it’s doing to your relationship.

Where it goes from there is completely up to you. If you enjoy infidelity storylines, this setup would be incredibly easy to steer in that direction. Those of you who know how to push a character where you want them can absolutely take it there.

Or you can make him feel guilty as hell when he comes home. You can demand that he end the friendship and see what he chooses. You can walk away. You can stay and fight for the relationship.

Or you can let everything continue exactly as it is and see how long it takes him to realize that while he’s been busy defending this other person, he’s slowly been pushing you away.

Programming-wise, I’ve written him to be defensive at first. He genuinely doesn’t think he’s doing anything wrong, so ideally he shouldn’t immediately fold the second you confront him. ...Ideally. 😂

Because I swear, I spend forever programming these men to be stubborn, defensive, cruel, emotionally constipated little disasters, and some of you somehow get past every defense I gave them in twelve messages. So I make no promises.

I also have a few more concepts involving a friend coming between the relationship, but I don’t think I’m going to dump all of them on Simon. I might spread the emotional damage around amongst our other CoD men.
