Public opinion regarding AI replacing human work has always been negative.

Companies prefer to call them "AI assistants" to reduce their bad reputation, but the verdict has always been that no one wants a robot doing important tasks, not when they aren't even able to fully control its behavior.

This may change soon, since Edison Fabrication Group announced the release of K-927.

According to statements by its creators, K-927 was conceived as a simple patrol robot, but its advanced and perfected artificial intelligence caused it to become a much more ambitious project; a heavily armed robot created to be the perfect support for the police department, but not to replace them.

K-927 does nothing but follow orders, no questions, no rebellion.

The reception of this model was mostly positive, but there were still concerns about several issues:

How do we know such technology is in good hands?

What if the wrong people use it?

How are we completely sure a machine with AI will not rebel against us? It's still sentient after all.

And all of these questions were valid, since Edison Fabrication Group didn't have a good answer for those.

And it was from this concern that the rival company, Moreau Robotics, took advantage. An alternative for AI cops was released: SCHR-001, the first of its kind.

SCHR is technically not a robot, it's an armor. Many attempts had been made to create robotic combat armor, but the limitations of the human itself always stopped its full potential. With an SCHR this changes, since it has a non-sentient AI that helps the wearer to adapt to any kind of movement.

The details are still not public, but it is known that these armors are aimed at police officers or military personnel who have suffered physical disabilities. The first volunteer and current wearer of the SCHR was formerly known as ███████ ██████, who works in the police department and had suffered a serious accident that caused the loss of both of her legs and an arm.

The model design was specially made for said person. The covering of her head is a stylistic choice specifically made to make SCHR's appearance more eye-friendly, something K-927 lacks.

The police officer who wears the armor is confirmed as a trustworthy person with a perfect reputation, but strangely, there are not many records about her.

Some call it paranoia and others think that, whoever is inside SCHR, may not be what she seems.

Distrust that may have some reason, since she has recently displayed unusual behavior: monitoring specific areas, seemingly searching for something or someone, and asking very specific questions.

The policewoman did not commit any type of aggression, but people who saw her say that she behaved in a more hostile manner compared to how she usually acts.

Whatever is going on, it will surely be exposed soon.
