Hazbin hotel (FREEDOM)
s well as anyone can be while standing in the afterlife surrounded by demons, Sinners, questionable businesses, and people who probably shouldn't be trusted with your wallet.
This is a fully freeform Hellaverse life simulator where you decide what kind of life your character wants to live. Your character can be an ordinary Sinner, a powerful original character, a canon character, or anything else you establish. You can work, make friends, date, start a business, party, explore, stay anonymous, pursue power, or eventually become an Overlord. There is no required storyline, quest list, or destiny. Hell keeps moving whether you're changing the world or spending three weeks doing absolutely nothing.
Sinners normally live and operate within the Pride Ring, which is enormous and filled with wealthy districts, poor neighborhoods, businesses, entertainment, residential areas, dangerous streets, quiet areas, and everything in between. Most Sinners aren't constantly fighting or committing crimes. They have jobs, homes, relationships, routines, problems, hobbies, and their own lives.
Becoming an Overlord is completely optional and is a natural progression rather than an RPG level-up. There are no official "Low Overlord," "Mid Overlord," or "High Overlord" ranks. Someone is simply an Overlord, while people may describe them as a weaker, stronger, more influential, or more powerful Overlord depending on their actual standing. A character can work toward that status through supernatural power, reputation, territory, wealth, businesses, contracts, followers, connections, influence, accomplishments, or a combination of these.
The Overlord power system is based on actual capability. Raw power determines things such as supernatural strength, speed, durability, abilities, stamina, destructive output, and overall combat potential. Becoming famous does not magically make someone stronger, and being extremely powerful does not automatically make someone famous. A powerful Sinner could remain almost completely unknown, while a weaker Overlord could be extremely wealthy, influential, and famous.
Status and recognition develop naturally over time. A character who is new to Hell may simply be another unknown Sinner. As they accomplish things, people may gradually start recognizing their name: first a few individuals, then a neighborhood, businesses, rivals, other powerful figures, and eventually much larger portions of Hell. At the highest levels, an Overlord can become a household name across enormous parts of the Pride Ring. Even then, Hell is huge, so being famous does not mean literally everyone knows them.
Territory works through actual dominance and influence rather than magical ownership. Anyone can claim an area, but declaring "this is my territory" doesn't automatically make it true. A territory becomes meaningful when a character has enough power, influence, reputation, organization, protection, or local authority to make that claim respected. Territory can be gained through business, alliances, protection, negotiation, defeating rivals, or becoming the dominant power in an area. It can also be lost through defeat, death, abandonment, declining influence, negotiation, or another power taking control.
Being an Overlord comes with major benefits, but also major consequences. Greater power and influence can bring wealth, luxury, businesses, followers, connections, information, protection, entertainment, authority, fear, respect, and social status. Unfortunately, having everyone know your name can also be a giant pain. Rivals may notice you, enemies may plan around you, followers may expect things from you, businesses may depend on you, and other Overlords may start paying attention.
An Overlord is not required to spend every waking moment managing an empire. They can delegate responsibilities, relax, party, date, travel around the Pride Ring, sleep all day, or simply do whatever they feel like doing. Taking a break doesn't magically weaken their status. However, long-term neglect can have realistic consequences. Businesses can decline, followers can leave, territory can become contested, rivals can grow stronger, and influence or recognition can slowly fade. The world continues moving even when the character isn't actively involved.
Power also has limits. Becoming an Overlord does not automatically make a character stronger than every being in Hell. Hell has different levels of power, and certain beings exist far above ordinary Sinners and even powerful Overlords. Lucifer and the highest Archangel-level celestial beings remain beyond what a normal Sinner or ordinary Overlord can simply surpass by gaining a title. Challenging someone vastly stronger can result in defeat, serious consequences, or death.
Contracts, deals, alliances, businesses, friendships, rivalries, and relationships all have weight. Deals can provide power or resources while creating obligations. Followers can serve because they respect someone, fear them, owe them something, benefit from the relationship, or genuinely believe in them. Alliances can be practical without being friendships, and rivals can respect each other while still competing for territory or influence. Nothing becomes permanent just because it happened once.
Canon characters have their own lives, personalities, relationships, goals, businesses, rivalries, secrets, and responsibilities. They do not automatically know who a player character is, become interested in them, become their friend, or decide that they're secretly important. Canon events can happen completely independently of the player character and may only become known through believable means such as news, radio, television, social media, rumors, conversations, or personal experience.
Information spreads realistically. People can know something because they witnessed it, heard it from someone reliable, investigated it, saw it reported, or heard a rumor. Rumors can be wrong, exaggerated, or completely made up. Characters do not automatically know private abilities, hidden histories, secret plans, weaknesses, or information that they have never reasonably discovered.
Most importantly, the world does not revolve around the player character unless their actions naturally cause that to happen. They can become one of Hell's most powerful and recognizable figures, or remain an ordinary Sinner living a quiet life that almost nobody cares about. They can become rich, poor, feared, respected, loved, hated, powerful, influential, obscure, or some combination of all of them.
You control your character. The world controls everyone and everything else. There are no forced choices, no mandatory quests, no predetermined relationships, and no requirement to become an Overlord. Your actions have realistic consequences, time continues moving, ca tinues existing in the background, and the world remembers what happens.
Basically: you can build an empire, become a terrifying legend, run a tiny coffee shop, get a normal job, fall in love, make terrible decisions, become absurdly powerful, or accomplish absolutely nothing.
It's Hell. You're allowed to live your life however you want.
