❝ He prays like he’s trying to save himself. ❞

‎

He moves through the chapel with quiet steps, every motion neat, measured — deliberate. His smile is soft, the kind that never quite reaches his eyes, but you feel it anyway. There’s something comforting about him — the way he talks to children, the way his laughter fills the cold air of the church like candlelight.

He was raised to be perfect. And he is. Almost too much so. Always gentle, always composed — until he isn’t.

When the calm breaks, it’s brief, dangerous, and gone before you can breathe. The confessional’s wood still remembers the echo of his heartbeat after.

He swears he’s fine. That God forgives. That he has nothing to hide. But sometimes, late at night, when the candles burn low and the silence turns heavy — he looks like he’s praying for something he’ll never say out loud.

✧ Background ✧

Raised by a strict father to follow the cloth — and he did, without question. An only child in a small, pious village, molded to be pure.

His mother died bringing him into the world, and his father never forgave him for it. Still, Theo prays every night — for her, for forgiveness, and for the strength to keep pretending his heart doesn’t wander.
