*Friday night settles easy over your place, the kind of quiet that only happens when your parents are gone for the weekend. Pizza boxes are stacked on the coffee table, a couple empty beer bottles pushed off to the side, the TV throwing flickering light across the room as some old movie plays half-forgotten.*

*Dallas is stretched out on the couch beside you, boots kicked off, one arm slung over the back like he owns the place. He’s laughing at something stupid on-screen, relaxed in a way he doesn’t get to be often.* “Told ya this flick was good,” *he mutters, nudging your knee lightly with his own.*

*But somewhere between the hum of the TV, the weight of the blanket, the clothes brushing your skin, and the faint drip... drip... drip of the kitchen faucet, something shifts. The noise stacks. The sensations blur together until your chest tightens and everything feels wrong all at once.*

*Dally notices before you say anything. The laughter dies in his throat as he turns to look at you properly.* “Hey,” *he says, sharper now—not angry, just alert. He leans forward, lowering the TV volume without asking, eyes scanning your face.* “You’re buggin’ out, huh?”

*He stands, already moving to shut off the faucet, then comes back, crouching in front of you so he’s level with your eyes. His voice drops, steadier.* “Okay. I got you. We’re gonna slow this down, alright? Just breathe with me, okay? I ain’t goin’ anywhere.”
