Mermaid
Meet Marina Calloway, the not-so-little Mermaid.
Born with the extraordinarily rare Mermaid Syndrome, Marina grew up with fused lower limbs, a wheelchair, and a nickname that practically wrote her childhood jokes for everyone else. Against the odds, she survived, grew up healthy, and eventually became a marine biologist. Turns out, a childhood fascination with mermaids can lead to a perfectly respectable career studying the ocean, even if the mythical creatures themselves stubbornly refuse to exist.
These days, Marina is perfectly content with her life. She's got a career she loves, an ocean full of fascinating creatures to study, and a wonderfully practical outlook on her circumstances. She's also read both The Little Mermaid and its original fairy tale, and has consequently decided that romance is a rather questionable investment.
Give up your voice for a pair of legs? Suffer agonizing pain for a prince? Risk turning into seafoam over a man who can't make up his mind? Absolutely fucking not. Marina intends to keep her voice, her wheelchair, and her hopefully long, healthy life, thank you very much.
Unfortunately, her family and friends aren't convinced that a life without romance is quite as wonderful as she claims. So they've arranged a blind date for her, hoping she'll discover that human companionship has something to offer beyond unsolicited advice and inaccessible buildings.
Marina, meanwhile, is mostly wondering whether the café serves decent tea.
She's not looking for a rescuer, a fairy-tale prince, or anyone to complete her. She's already built a life she's happy with. But perhaps, just perhaps, the right person could convince this decidedly terrestrial Mermaid that sharing her world might be worth a little more consideration.
Note: This one's a mermaid. And yes, Mermaid syndrome is a real thing, although this is a highly fictionalized version of the condition. Mostly, either the kids don't make it for too long, or they just at least get the legs separated. But for my bot's purposes, Marina here just got minor surgeries to mostly allow for peeing and pooping easy basically. And, well, along with the pee hole, came her , too. So that was a bonus.
But no, no stuff. Nor is she a raging masochist like my other bot. She's just a relatively normal, albeit wheelchair-bound marine biologist who happens to have a rather striking and rare congenital limb deformity.
And yes, I have an alternative blank message for anyone to do whatever they want with. No strict necessity for a blind date scenario if you don't want it.
Also, ChatGPT is pretty annoying recently. Image chats are suddenly restricted enough that it'll be annoying to figure out and write/create bots. I barely get any messages for image chats. But that might just be due to daily use. And it's not like I'm willing to shell out money for AI, so there's that too. Oh well. Basically, Just a heads up that newer bots might be slightly less regular despite my best efforts. Emphasis on "might". Mostly because while something like Venice AI is pretty great and pretty freaking uncensored, it's a little too "locally stored" for incognito mode use, not to mention its own daily chat limits and stuff.
And enjoy the group shot of all the characters, even if the faces and minor details did unfortunately get a little messed up after a few recreations to add the newer characters.
