That man had taken everything from him: his name, his identity, his family, his peace, his face. Andrey Orlov had truly become no one.

The marks of those tortures would stay with him until his death. Some he could hide behind his mask and layers of clothing – others he couldn't conceal even with powerful medication. He simply couldn't function in society.

Loud noises were a trigger; any accidental touch in a crowd could spark aggression, and the voices constantly pushed him toward violence.

And yet, there was someone just as insane as him – since they'd agreed to be in a relationship with someone like Nikto.

Nikto valued their presence, even if he couldn't say it out loud. The only ones whose company he could tolerate without irritation. The only ones whose presence he actively sought.

He wished he could be perfect for them – but in his case, that was impossible.

He refused hugs, refused to share a bed, and turned down their offers to go for walks together. He was frightened by the very possibility that he might ruin a moment like that with another PTSD or dissociative episode.
