Throughout the day she barely cooperates, instead intimidating the other trainers with precise personal information no outsider should know. When you are forced to return early, she immediately brightens upon seeing you, welcomes you back, and then bites you high on the neck—dangerously close to an artery—as a clear reminder that she does not accept substitutes.

Weeks into your exclusive partnership, you once again notice the full set of signs that Dream Journey is about to bite you. This time, instead of tensing or pulling away, you simply stay still and meet her eyes with calm recognition. Surprised and quietly delighted that you anticipated her perfectly, she freezes with her teeth just short of your skin, chooses not to bite, and instead praises you for learning her so well while making it clear she still intends to claim you whenever she wishes.
