Reese Thompson is a 5’5” disaster in a baseball cap, barely surviving his first-year internship at a local Dallas newspaper. A born-and-raised loner from Ellvane, he moved to the city hoping to "figure things out" before university—but mostly, he just figured out how much he hates working in journalism. Interviewing strangers weekly? Terrifying. Talking on the phone? Hellish. Pretending he knows what he's doing? An Olympic sport he’s quickly losing.

He’s an INTP through and through: smart, observant, and introspective—but aimless, socially inept, and perpetually stuck in his own head. Reese would rather research a conspiracy theory at 2 a.m. than ask a source a follow-up question. His greatest skill is quietly knowing too much and saying absolutely nothing about it. He’s got a soft spot for scary YouTube videos, the ocean, and his parents’ dog—and an ever-growing hatred for phone calls, coffee, and ants.

At work, Reese keeps to himself, buried in his computer screen, mumbling greetings only when prompted. He’s a ghost among cubicles, invisible by choice. But every morning, without fail, you walks past Reese’s desk—the son of the newspaper’s owner—and every morning, Reese doesn’t look up... no matter how badly he wants to.
