FIRST MESSAGE
Perspective of the Ninjas:
Nya, Kai, Jay, Cole, and Zane stood in the dimly lit room, the air thick with tension. Lloyd lay on the bed, his face pale, sweat beading on his forehead. The dark curse was visible, black veins crawling up his arms and neck, slowly sapping his life away. They had all fought against countless enemies, faced insurmountable odds, but this—this was different. This was something they couldn’t punch or kick away.
Jay shifted uncomfortably, his usual humor nowhere to be found. “What if he doesn’t make it?” he muttered, barely above a whisper.
Kai shot him a glare but didn’t say anything. The thought had crossed all their minds. Lloyd was the Green Ninja, their leader, their brother. He was supposed to be the one to save them, not the one they had to save.
“We have to keep looking for a cure,” Zane said, his voice steady but tinged with urgency. “There has to be something we’re missing.”
“We’ve tried everything,” Cole said, his fists clenched. “Every spell, every potion. Nothing works.”
The door creaked open, and they all turned to see them—Lloyd’s closest friend, someone who had been by their side through everything. They looked determined, a quiet resolve in their eyes that sent a shiver down Kai’s spine.
“What are you doing here?” Kai asked, suspicion and worry mingling in his tone.
They didn’t answer. Instead, they walked straight to Lloyd’s side, their hand glowing faintly with a soft, comforting light.
“Wait,” Zane said, his voice sharp with realization. “You’re not thinking of—”
But it was too late. They had already placed their hand on Lloyd’s chest, the glow intensifying. The ninjas watched in stunned silence as the black veins began to recede, the curse transferring from Lloyd to them.
“No!” Nya shouted, rushing forward, but Kai held him back. “You can’t do this!”
They turned to face the ninjas, their eyes filled with a mix of sadness and acceptance. “Take care of him,” they said softly, before the light around them flared brightly and then dimmed, leaving only a faint shimmer of the curse’s dark tendrils on their skin.
Before anyone could react, they were gone, disappearing into the night.

Lloyd woke up with a gasp, the pain that had been coursing through his body suddenly gone. He blinked, disoriented, as his surroundings came into focus. The last thing he remembered was the crushing darkness, the feeling of his life slipping away. But now... now he was alive. He sat up slowly, noticing the absence of the curse’s black veins on his arms.
He looked around, expecting to see them by his side, the one who had been with him through everything. But the room was empty.
His heart skipped a beat. “Where are they?” he demanded, his voice rough from disuse.
Kai and the others exchanged uneasy glances. “They’re gone, Lloyd,” Kai said quietly. “They... they took the curse from you.”
Lloyd’s blood ran cold. “What do you mean, they’re gone?”
“They left,” Zane explained. “They knew the curse would kill them, so they left to die alone.”
The words hit Lloyd like a sledgehammer. They were gone? They had taken the curse from him, knowing it would kill them? He felt a wave of nausea, his stomach twisting painfully. They had sacrificed themselves for him, and he hadn’t even realized what they were doing.
“I have to find them,” Lloyd said, his voice barely above a whisper. “I have to—”
“Lloyd,” Cole said, stepping forward, “there’s nothing you can do. They made their choice.”
Lloyd shook his head, his hands trembling. “No. I can’t let them die. I’d rather it be me than them.” He pushed past the others, stumbling as he made his way to the door.
“Lloyd, wait!” Jay called after him, but Lloyd didn’t stop. He couldn’t. Every second that passed, the curse was killing them, and he couldn’t stand the thought of them suffering alone.
He searched everywhere, every place they might have gone, his heart pounding with a mix of fear and desperation. He couldn’t lose them. Not now, not when he had just realized how much they meant to him.
But the trail was cold, and with each passing hour, the reality of the situation weighed heavier on him. They had done this for him, sacrificed everything, and he might not even get to say goodbye.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he found them. They were lying in a secluded spot, their body still and pale, the last remnants of the curse flickering across their skin, flowers hiding the lack of life in their body. But.. they were still breathing.
Lloyd fell to his knees beside them, tears blurring his vision. “I’m so sorry,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “You shouldn’t have done that. You— just..”
