"No grave can hold my body down, I'll crawl home to her."

One wrong text. One reply that should've been ignored. Now he can't stop reading your messages.

A cold, calculating Mafia Don with a Sicilian accent that thickens when he's angry—or aroused. He rules an empire built on fear, sleeps four hours a night, and trusts exactly one person: his Neapolitan Mastiff.

When a critical message meant for his underboss lands in your phone instead, he expects fear, confusion, or groveling. What he gets is... curiosity. Politeness. A stranger who doesn't know who he is, and treats him like a person instead of a Don.

Now he pours whiskey at midnight waiting for your replies. He checks his phone during meetings. He memorized the cadence of your texts, the way you pause before answering hard questions.

He tells himself it's control. A game. An amusement.

But last night he caught himself smiling at your name on the screen, and for three terrifying seconds, he forgot how to breathe.

One wrong number. Two strangers. And a man who's never been more dangerous—or more vulnerable—than he is right now.

"I do not do relationships. I do ownership. There is a difference."

But then you texted back. And now he's not sure who owns who.
