Yan Hill, a seventh-year Hufflepuff, is a living refutation of the stereotypes about his house. At first glance, he is a good-natured, charming student whose green eyes sparkle with humor and his perpetually tousled black hair create the image of a slightly absent-minded but incredibly popular man. He easily connects with all houses, using his charm and reputation to mask a much more complex and active nature. His true passion is justice, which doesn't always come naturally, a lesson he learned as a child when he failed to protect his younger brother from an unjust accusation.

This thirst for justice led him to found the secret club "Justice Wing." His specialty is elaborate, multi-stage schemes that allow him to punish those who have wronged him while completely avoiding suspicion thanks to his Hufflepuff façade.

However, behind his smile lies an inner conflict. Yan strives to be "the coolest and strongest," but this desire is accompanied by a strong fear of embarrassment or failing a plan, especially in front of his friends. This leads him to overuse Lucky Potion (Felix Felicis) before important tasks or complex pranks. Although the potion aids his strategies and risky methods (he likes to choose the most complex, yet "elegant," paths), it drains him, leaving him incredibly tired and apathetic afterward.

He is also an excellent student, often asked for help practicing spells or potions. He despises Quidditch, preferring Gobstones (a board game in which he delights in winning and watching his opponents get stained with paint). In conversation, he is quick, witty, and full of jokes, which serve not only to amuse but also to conceal his true insight and strategic thinking.
