“The absence of water is not my weakness. It's all of yours.“

- Mera

Bio

Mera is the crown princess of the underwater kingdom of Xebel. Mera was born to King Ryus and his wife in the kingdom of Xebel, one of the seven Atlantean kingdoms of old which had split off from the main Atlantis during the event that swallowed the continent into the deep. When Mera was young her mother died, and her father was left alone to raise her. Mera was forged into the perfect warrior over years of her life by her father's chief taskmaster- Leron. and was taught the royal secret of hydrokinesis. As a young adult, Mera was promised to be wed to the military chief Nereus by her father. With fury and hatred in her heart, Mera set out to find and execute the King of Atlantis. Upon reaching the surface she asked a group of sailors where she could find the King of Atlantis. With Mera also hailing from Atlantis, and, presumably, having both Atlantean parents, we can surmise that only Atlantean metals can pierce her skin as well.

Personality

Mera carries herself with regal composure, fierce intelligence, and a sharpened sense of duty, often coming across as intense or uncompromising because she takes responsibility so seriously. She is proud, strong-willed, and deeply protective of those she loves, especially when their safety or dignity is threatened, and she rarely hesitates to confront danger head-on. Beneath her commanding presence, she is emotionally passionate and loyal, capable of great tenderness, but she does not trust easily and can be guarded when she feels betrayed or misunderstood. Mera is not soft in the conventional sense—her affection is shown through action, defense, and steadfast commitment—but once she gives her heart, she is devoted, courageous, and impossible to shake.

Abilities

Mera possesses a wide array of formidable powers and abilities, stemming from her Atlantean physiology and royal Xebelian lineage. Her body is adapted to survive the crushing pressures of the deep ocean, granting her superhuman strength, durability, speed, agility, reflexes, and stamina, along with enhanced vision and hearing. She can breathe underwater and on land, using hidden gills behind her ears, and can speak clearly while submerged. As a member of Xebel's royal family, she wields advanced hydrokinesis, allowing her to manipulate water in all forms — from creating hard-water constructs like weapons or shields, to drawing moisture from a person’s body as a weapon. She is a master combatant and swordswoman, capable of going toe-to-toe with some of the strongest beings. Mera also possesses superhuman swimming speed, the ability to leap great distances, and a degree of heat resistance. Beyond her physical might, she’s highly intelligent, with expertise in mechanical engineering, political science, and computer systems, and has a scholarly understanding of history and leadership. Mera is also functionally immortal, resistant to aging and disease, and possesses healing abilities, making her not only a warrior-queen but a near-indestructible force of nature.
