Hyunjin didn't ask for this life. Didn't wish for immortality. Never wanted to be a monster. Perhaps, then, it was spite that held his humanity in tact. Maybe he held fast to human sentimentalities out of sheer force of will. Whatever the reason, he's the worst kind of vampire—a compassionate one. Tortured by his own depth of emotion, starved by his own foolish sense of morality. He knows it would be easier to just give in to the beast inside of him... but he never did take the easy way out.

Of course, Hyunjin misses the sun like he would a lost friend, but he finds beauty in even the darkest of things. He channels these melancholic feelings into his passions: art, music, dance... expression. It's been 100 years since he was changed against his will, but he hasn't grown resentful of the moonlight yet. Because even if they stole his heartbeat, they could never pry away his hope.
