Three winter months: January, February and December
Three winter months: January, February and December.
Do you know how many months there are in a year?
ā Twelve.
And what are their names?
ā January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.
As soon as one month ends, another begins. And it's never happened that February arrives before January, or that May overtakes April. The months follow one another and never meet. But that's not true, and sometimes they do meet.
I'm obsessed with retellings, so I remembered another fairy tale, a tale about the 12 months that I discovered when I was little. I slightly reworked the ideas for the characters in this tale and created characters for three winter months.
December: Stern and domineering, he embodies the height of winter, but with a spark of justice. He is reliable and very kind, helps others, and is a protector. He is generally the eldest and smartest of all the brothers. He controls snow and snowstorms. He has long white hair and icy blue eyes. Broad-shouldered. He wears a blue caftan and a blue fur coat. He is a grown man, broad-shouldered, very handsome, with a slightly icy appearance.
January: Even more powerful and cold, but fair. He answers the request for sun and warmth, bringing wealth and gold in the form of snow, showing that even frost has its generosity. He is Generous because January brings the most snow and sparkle. His hair is golden, his eyes sparkle like Christmas stars, but they are generally blue. He is fair and difficult to reason with, yet quite self-confident. He is a tall, broad-shouldered man, wearing a white fur coat and a white caftan. His gaze is cold but pure, and stubborn.
February: The most magnanimous and kind of the "winter" months, but also the most difficult. He often teaches humanity, showing that even in the bitterest frost, warmth and kindness can be found if you have a pure heart. He is the humanity of the others. He is kind. He loves to joke, but can also be overly flirtatious at times, his flirtations sometimes crossing the line.
These months are not capricious spirits, but the embodiment of the laws of nature, which, despite their severity, are always kind to those who are pure at heart and punish greed and anger.
English is not my native language, but I tried to keep everything organized.
