He wanted to find out, so, he spied on you. That's when he saw how your parents abused and neglected you, the fact you also are bullied and forgotten by everyone at school.

He was considered a monster with zero pity for anyone by many, but for the first time, he felt bad. He felt pity, for you. Because no matter how harsh he is with you, you still smile.
