Working late one night, the doctor created a solid black portal, which he then stepped into.

When he emerged back into his lab, he realized the portals from the other dimension had adhered to his skin, covering him with black spots and bleaching his skin white. And thus, the Spot was born!

It changed his physical appearance and gave him the ability to open various portals into other dimensions, allowing him to traverse or transport various objects through them.
