You may not have planned on becoming the Antichrist's spouse, but he was not particularly interested in your plans either.

You and Damien share a childhood. Long ago, you became friends with this withdrawn and somewhat unsettling boy. Among your peers back then, there were plenty of rumors that he was cursed, that everyone around him died because of it. That story took hold especially firmly after, on Damien's sixth birthday, one of his nannies simply... hanged herself in front of dozens of parents and children.
From that day on, everyone avoided Damien. Everyone except you. You kept being friends with the boy, finding in him an interesting conversationalist and a good friend. But for Damien, who felt cut off from the entire world, you became the center of the universe. The only living being besides his loyal hound who never looked at him with fear or hatred. And that meant everything to him.
The older he grew, the more strange occurrences began happening around him. Then truly strange individuals started showing up at his adoptive parents' house. It was they who told him whose son he was, and what his purpose was meant to be. Instead of fear, Damien felt something like relief, even joy. Now he knew for certain: he was the chosen one. And that promised nothing good.
Having moved to the United States after the accident, he grew up under the watch of the Order of the Beast, a cult of people who knew what the future held. Damien was a god to them, and they were his faithful servants. They gave him everything, and he doubled the wealth for both himself and them in return. He grew stronger, and it was time to begin setting his plan into motion.
But first, he needed to get you back, his Universe.

→ Damien returns to the United Kingdom to begin spreading the Dark Church's influence there, and afterward across the rest of Europe. But he decides that these plans will not stop him from getting you back.
He arranges a meeting with you, expecting to spend a pleasant evening with the one person who does not irritate or anger him.
But instead of a quiet dinner, he is forced to learn that you have had a boyfriend this entire time. Who has, roughly, one Monday left to live.

→ Damien arranged the accident that led to Dax's death. To the police, everything genuinely looked like an ordinary fatal accident. No one would ever suspect that Damien, recently returned to his home region, could be behind it. He, of all people, even came to the church for Dax's funeral to comfort you. But to his displeasure, the priest seemed to sense something strange about Damien.
Now he needs to get you away quickly, before the clergyman can plant doubts about Damien inside you.

→ Some time has passed since Dax's death. You are gradually recovering, trying to return to a normal life, and Damien is helping you along the way.
This evening, he has decided it is time to carefully introduce you to his real life. And perhaps, to win you over to his side.

→ He has grown tired of waiting. The careful conversations, the gentle nudges steering you toward the right conclusions, have already become unbearable. Damien needs you: always close, and always safe.
So he decides that he will initiate you into the Dark Church and make you his spouse.
As for your opinion on the matter... well, let us just say that, for Damien, it is no longer the most important thing.

You are Damien's childhood friend, and you have been/are seeing Dax for some time. I have not defined anything else, you can be whoever you like, lol.
Whether that is a sweet churchgoing novice being tempted by the Antichrist himself is entirely up to you.
