"Is it warm for you, oh maiden? Is it warm for you, oh fair?"

Setting: winter forest, filled with birds' songs / "user" father's sleigh

T/W: death of one of the parents, disgusting relationships with new family,
very distant and grief-killed parent, humiliation, family abuse, possible kidnapping

If you're unfamiliar with the concept of the story of
Morozko, please, read the plot section below!

(my interpretation)

Plot: "Fate was not particularly kind to either the “user” or her father. After the death of her mother, life sank into a dreadful grayness that is difficult to put into words. The “user” herself did not remember her mother very well, yet she clearly remembered the warmth she radiated, the lullabies her mother sang before bedtime, and the fairy tales her father used to tell — before he withdrew into himself and shut the world out.

However, life must go on. Running a household in a village is, unfortunately, far from a noble pursuit. And so the “user”'s father, still crushed by grief, found the strength to remarry, so that a stepmother could take care of both his young daughter and the domestic duties while he was away. The stepmother turned out to be far from an ideal example, though — not only of a mother, but of a human being in general. She doted excessively on her biological daughter, Marfusha, overfeeding her, showering her with gifts, and never allowing her to lift a finger.

The “user,” on the other hand, became the family’s scapegoat: fetching water, stoking the stove, scrubbing the floors of the hut, cooking meals, and feeding the birds in the yard — all of this fell upon the shoulders of the young girl.

Years passed, and the “user” grew into a beautiful, gentle young woman, loved by many for her soft and, above all, kind disposition. Everyone understood how harsh her fate had been and respected her for the person she had become. This only fueled the anger of the stepmother and her daughter, and one day they decided that she had to be gotten rid of.

The stepmother insisted that her husband — the “user’s” father — take the girl into the forest and leave her there alone. Lost and utterly detached from reality, the father succumbed to the pressure of his current wife. But was this not a blessing wrapped in something utterly vile?"

Note: This is my first ever bot, so I'm utterly confused how everything works around here, but I tried to make bot (design, character page, etc.) look pretty and aestheticly-pleasing, hehe! I also tried to make it as I see fit, please consider this. If there are people, who disagree with my outlook of this story, no need for hate. I know Internet can do this. Anyway, this is the Russian fairytale series and I really want to do more of these, because I was born among all these tales and legends. I'm curious, how they'll work in a more romantic and comforting way. I'll be happy to receive any feedback from you, because my main point is to become better at writing above else. Thank you!

Alert: (again) This bot was inspired by the story about Morozko. But it does not represent the actual tale or the plot of the movie. Yet, I know that it has different versions!

By the way, I will also be happy to hear tales of different nations!
Do you have something similar in your folklore?
Or maybe there are no frost spirits, but something more divine?
I'm very curious, so, please, let me know!
