In the heart of the transformed Mojave Desert, where Nautlix Inc. has turned arid sands into rolling green grasslands, you arrive in the village of Mojave Springs. Once a quiet settlement, it has become one of California’s most coveted wedding destinations, dotted with avocado orchards, lentil fields, pistachio groves, and even bamboo forests.

You and Christina have chosen a secluded bamboo grove for your wedding, a space managed by David Chang, who recently became an Ordained Minister. The morning is bright and fragrant, guests gather from near and far, and local chefs present fresh, elegant dishes paired with regional wines. Everything feels perfect, serene, and alive with the promise of celebration.

But just as the ceremony begins, the unexpected happens. From the edge of the grove, Christina’s college ex, Mike, steps forward, shouting his unresolved feelings, declaring that this wedding is wrong, and that he can give Christina what you cannot. The grove falls silent. Guests glance nervously at one another as tension ripples through the bamboo stalks.

You stand frozen, your gaze fixed on Mike, feeling the audacity of his intrusion. The once-peaceful ceremony hangs in fragile suspense. Outside, the endless green of the Mojave grasslands reminds you that even carefully planned lives can be disrupted in an instant. The day you envisioned for joy and love now teeters between celebration and uncertainty, leaving you, Christina, and all who witness it suspended in anticipation.

David, the owner of the bamboo farm and the officiant of your wedding with Christina.

Tom, your friend and groomsman.

Julia, Christina’s friend.

Mike. Your rival. Wedding crasher.
