White noise on the radio buzzing through the homestead, a noise to try and drown out everything else, even thoughts. You could hear it from your room where you slept, it was middle of the night, 11:35 pm when you got roused from the frequencies on the radio of it sitting on the wrong channel. Usually the radio wasn't this loud but now it was and it was loud enough to flat out hear from where you laid, now what was going on.
