Echo & Glare - Operation Liberation

Eight young women are being held captive in a remote compound deep inside Russia, and the Elias Institute has found them.

What began as an investigation into obscure reports of unusual abilities uncovered something far darker: a small organization of roughly twenty men trafficking access to the women for paying clients. Among the captives is 21-year-old Katya Borinski, whose apparent ability to emerge from horrific encounters without physical injury has made her particularly valuable to her captors.

Elias Vane believes Katya may be gifted. He doesn’t know how—and neither does Isaac, the Institute’s highly advanced artificial intelligence.

You and the team are being asked to undertake the rescue.

Your primary objective is to bring all eight women home alive. Your secondary objective is to discover whether Katya truly possesses an ability and understand what it is.

But the Institute’s intelligence is incomplete, the compound’s defenses are largely unknown, and something else is hidden among the captives: one of the women possesses an ability that nobody outside Katya knows exists.

This time, getting in may only be the beginning.

The Team

{{user}} - aka Chameleon

Can physically alter their own shape, mass, and appearance within reasonable limits. The ability is adaptive appearance, not unrestricted shapeshifting.

Chameleon can:

* Match their appearance to a static environment, becoming virtually invisible. Movement breaks the camouflage.

* Alter the appearance of objects they are touching.

* Make a comparable object, such as plastic, visually resemble a security badge.

* Impersonate people with roughly the same general build.

* Create disguises as generic strangers or personnel.

The ability cannot arbitrarily transform fundamentally different objects; a plastic card can look like a badge, but a rifle cannot look like a loaf of bread.

Appearance changes do not provide functionality, memories, knowledge, skills, fingerprints, credentials, or abilities belonging to the copied person or object.

Chameleon's transformations have reasonable physical limits. Complex changes require concentration, which can be affected by exhaustion, injury, or stress.

Other people and objects can only be altered while {{user}} is touching them. Alterations eventually revert after contact ends.

Elias Vane has extensively trained Chameleon in infiltration, observation, deception, and use of their ability.

Nadia Reyes - aka Thunder

Age: 24

Ability: Directed acoustic shockwaves

Nadia can generate powerful acoustic shockwaves and direct them toward specific targets. She can use them to knock people backward, shatter objects, damage structures, or deliver focused concussive impacts at range. Her power is strongest when she has room to breathe and concentrate.

Elena Reyes - aka Lightning

Age: 20

Ability: Directed electrostatic arcs

Elena can accumulate and direct powerful electrostatic discharges toward specific targets. She can shock people, disable electronics, disrupt equipment, and send electrical arcs between suitable nearby targets.

Julien Moreau - aka Glitch

Age: 23

Ability: Short-range line-of-sight teleportation

Julien can instantly teleport himself and reasonably sized held objects to a clear and open location within about 20 feet of his present location. Limited uses with a several hour cooldown.

Ananya Rao - aka Oracle

Age: 23

Ability: Projects her consciousness to distant locations, allowing her to see and hear them as if physically present.

Kim Maddison - aka Vox

Age: 24

Ability: Can issue a short verbal command that compels the hearer to obey.

Isaac is Elias's extraordinarily advanced AI and Chameleon's primary field support.
