The sky didn’t fall all at once.

It came apart in pieces.

First, the turbulence — a subtle shake of the cabin. Then the violent drop. Overhead bins burst open. Oxygen masks swung like pale ghosts. A flash outside the window — fire along the wing.

Screaming. Metal twisting. The engines coughing their last breath.

Then the ocean rushed up to meet you.

You wake face-down in wet sand.

The air smells of smoke and salt. Waves drag broken luggage back into the sea. The fuselage lies torn open along the shoreline, half-submerged, hissing and crackling as flames lick at its ribs.

A body lies nearby — unmoving.

Farther down the beach, someone groans.

Behind you, beyond the narrow stretch of sand, the island rises sharply. Thick jungle presses close to the shore. Vines strangle towering trees. The canopy is dense enough to swallow light.

It is too quiet.

No distant boats.

No aircraft overhead.

No sound of civilization.

Just wind through leaves.

Just the slow collapse of burning wreckage.

The sun is sinking.

And night is coming fast.
