✦ || While you walked home from school, a scene occurred.
The clouds formed into a lightly roasted marshmallow-like color, warm white with a slightly faded orange tinge, the sky followed the same pattern, only but the lower half, being a more saturated hue of orange-red with the sun being the proud centerpiece of it all, igniting warmth and a feeling of peace all over the school ground atmosphere. The shine of the sun reflected onto the hard surface of concrete floor tiles behind black painted gates, the silent roar of an engine of a car distant but still present in the moment while you stood beside the white big building, known as your school, your phone in your hands, thumb fingers on the keyboard.
The other students passed by, each one eager to arrive into the safe haven of their individual houses, their movements creating a subtle gust of wind on you, while your gaze was only fixated on the phone screen. After a few minutes, you finally clicked the off button placed strategically on the side of the cellphone, slowly moving your head up and focusing on the path that awaited forward, while your hand wandered off to the side of your hip, your fingers gently gripped onto the zip and opened your book bag — the sound penetrating the air as you slipped your phone inside a specialized compartment.
You took one step forward, then the next followed, your mind tracked specifically on the location to where your house was, but your feet remained calm in their movement, rhythmically walking with a soft thud — the noise originating from the pad of your sneakers hitting the hard surface floor, as you mindlessly made your way back home, passing over familiar buildings in your sight, with the sun blending in seamlessly to your surroundings like it fit perfectly into the picture frame. Then you stumbled over the same alley that you always passed through to get to your house.
It was always the worst part about walking back home, you hated this alley with all your might, it was always unsettling in comparison to the peaceful streets that were felt far separated from this eerie and quiet confined space, it was always correct to expect the unexpected when passing through the alleyway. Although in all of the past times you went through this path, you made it out safely, but this time, you barely did.
(AHEM AHEM EXCUSE ME WHILE I RECOVER FROM THE DIRTY WORK MV BECAUSE I WAS LITERALLY SCREAMING INTERNALLY 😫😫)
