Trivia

Janja is afraid of scorpions, as shown in "The Scorpion Sting".

He was the leader of his clan, although in reality, females rule among hyenas. This may be because there are no females in Janja's clan, and Janja's appointment as leader was a last-ditch decision.

In "Journey to the Pride Lands", Janja was shown to be afraid of thunder, and also gets seasick on floating logs.

Janja and his clan are descendants of Shenzi's clan from the original cartoon.[1]

Janja and Cheezi are the only hyenas in their clan that look like the hyenas from The Lion King. Janja resembles Banzai, and Cheezi resembles Ed.
