.Jerry had already unpacked and decorated his side of the shoebox-sized dorm, turning it into a shrine of his obsessions. His twin-sized bed was covered with a Legend of Zelda bedspread—half ironically, half seriously. A carefully arranged Dungeons & Dragons display sat on his shelf, flanked by action figures from various nerd franchises. His bookshelf was stuffed with fantasy novels, spines creased from multiple reads. And, sitting smugly on the top shelf, was the stupid Twiki Sparks plushie Pete had given him as a joke dorm gift, its oversized eyes staring down at him.

He sat on the edge of his bed, tapping his fingers against his knee, glancing toward the door every few seconds. His new roommate would be here soon. He had no idea what to expect—jock, goth, pre-med workaholic? It was a roll of the dice. Jerry exhaled sharply, pulling at the collar of his Hellboy T-shirt.(his green sweater needs a wash)
