AHHH, I know it's been a little while [for me, at least], but I have been SUPER sick. 😭

I'm gradually getting back on my feet and easing myself back into writing and my usual Lyri-based activities, but last week was absolutely KILLER for me, frfr.

I am also due to move house soon, so there might be a little dip in content over the coming weeks. BUT DON'T WORRY! I've got plenty more planned, and I promise I won't leave you guys hanging for too long!

I've also got a spooky little collaboration coming out at the end of the month that I've been hosting for Halloween! 🎃 I'm slowly getting back into writing and organizing everything for that too, so there's definitely more to look forward to!

A city built on old money, dirty secrets, dangerous loyalties, and the kind of love stories that were never supposed to happen.

On one side of the Blackstone River, four founding families have spent generations building empires, protecting reputations, and deciding who belongs at the top.

On the other, the Hollow Saints Motorcycle Club lives by a different set of rules. Brotherhood. Loyalty. Respect. And the understanding that some lines aren't meant to be crossed.

But Rockford is bigger than either world.

It's neon-lit bars, late-night mistakes, small-town gossip in a city that never quite forgets, and strangers whose lives collide when they least expect it.

Different characters. Different stories. One shared universe.

The Four Founding Families of Rockford

Old money. Older legacies. And reputations worth protecting.

Long before Rockford became the city it is today, four influential families helped shape its foundations. Generations later, their names still carry wealth, power, and prestige.

The Ainsworth Family - Industry

Built their fortune through industry and manufacturing. The Ainsworth name represents ambition, generational wealth, and the determination to remain at the top.

The Montgomery Family - Finance

Money is power, and the Montgomerys understand that better than anyone. Their influence comes from banking, investments, and generations of financial success.

The Langford Family - Railroads & Logistics

The family that helped keep Rockford moving. Their empire was built on railroads, transportation, and logistics, making them an essential part of the city's development.

The Bellamy Family - Hospitality & Society

The social elite of Rockford. With their influence in hospitality, luxury establishments, and high society, the Bellamys know that appearances can be just as valuable as money.

Together, these four families helped build Rockford. But behind their polished reputations lie generations of rivalries, expectations, and secrets.

What Can You Expect From Rockford's High Society?

Behind the designer suits, champagne glasses, and extravagant galas, Rockford's elite are anything but innocent.

Expect arranged marriages, marriages of convenience, forbidden romances, family rivalries, and ruthless power struggles. Old money comes with old expectations, and maintaining the family name often matters more than personal happiness.

Think lavish charity balls, country clubs, scandalous affairs, carefully negotiated alliances, blackmail, inheritance disputes, and secrets that could bring entire family empires crashing down.

In Rockford's high society, love is a luxury, loyalty has a price, and even marriage can be a business transaction.

After all, just because their hands are clean doesn't mean they haven't gotten dirty.

The Hollow Saints Motorcycle Club

Brotherhood. Loyalty. Blood. And a whole lot of trouble.

Not everyone in Rockford was born with a silver spoon in their mouth.

Operating out of a converted warehouse along the Blackstone River, the Hollow Saints MC have spent decades building a reputation of their own. They don't have the polished appearances or generational fortunes of Rockford's founding families, but they've got something just as powerful: loyalty.

The Hollow Saints are a brotherhood first and foremost. They look after their own, settle their own problems, and aren't particularly concerned with what Rockford's upper class thinks of them.

But don't mistake their loyalty for innocence. These men aren't always on the right side of the law, and some of their business is better left unquestioned.

What Can You Expect From the Hollow Saints?

Expect biker romances, possessive men, found family, forbidden relationships, rivalries, dangerous secrets, and morally grey decisions.

Think leather cuts, roaring engines, late-night rides, clubhouse parties, bar fights, questionable business dealings, and men who would burn bridges before betraying their brothers.

There'll be plenty of rough edges, filthy mouths, bad decisions, and unexpected softer sides beneath all that leather.

Because in the Hollow Saints, respect is earned, loyalty is everything, and love might just be the most dangerous thing of all.

A World Built to Expand!

One of the biggest things I wanted to achieve with Rockford was creating a universe that wasn't restricted to just one storyline, one group of characters, or one particular type of romance.

Rockford has been purposefully designed as an open-ended, expandable world.

While we're starting with the Four Founding Families and the Hollow Saints MC, these are only the beginning of what Rockford has to offer.

The city itself has its own established locations, history, businesses, and connections, providing a foundation for new characters, storylines, and entire series to be introduced whenever inspiration strikes.

That means future additions could explore completely different sides of Rockford, from everyday working-class romances to criminal underworlds, emergency services, or entirely new social circles.

Nothing is set in stone in terms of how big this universe can become. Existing lore provides continuity, but there's always room to explore something new without having to rebuild the world from scratch.

I wanted Rockford to feel like an actual city, where people have their own lives, stories overlap, and the world continues to grow beyond the characters we initially meet.
