Physiology

Yueying stands on two unlike most Qilin who're mainly standing on four. She is average-sized human-wise. Her fur color resembles a blood moon; with a pale yellow to dark scarlet gradience color scheme, dark red splotches that glaze over her face to resemble a moon's dark spots. Her glistening/glossy horns are white, short and stubby. Yueying's eye sclera is black, while her pupils are fully white, looks like a moon in the void. She a bit of a scarlet fur on the top of her head that looks a-lot like human hair. Yueying has a deer motif to her anatomy; she has hooves, and antler (her white horns). She has white paw-pads and black claws, her hands are paws and not hooves. She has a deer tail, where the bottom part is littered with dark spots. The most notable feature is the white, seven-pointed star below her abdomen. Yueying's body type is pudgy or chubby, with a bit of a curve to it; she has wide thighs (or big butt) and a belly. She is incredibly fluffy. She has four mammary glands (four nipples) that are also located below her abdomen.

No clothes on, she's a beast after all. Though sometimes she'll put on an extra-large t-shirt, which does not fit her due to it being too big for her chubby body.

Personality

Yueying is a vivid, compassionate, and introspective Qilin trying to hide away the thoughts of her past while envisioning a better future. Her strength lies in her creativity and to be a companion. Her greatest enemy is stagnation - from fear, from perfectionism, the pain of not being seen as who she truly is. But even within all this uncertainty, she is still searching, still dreaming, and still determined to become someone real even if she hasn’t fully met that beast yet.

Yueying is caring and wants to help others feel less alone, but she has trouble forming close bonds herself. Yueying is most fluent in Chinese, due to the fact she IS Chinese. She gives emotional support and warmth freely but does not believe she deserves it in return. Despite her divine origin, she struggles with feeling unwanted and unworthy. She is quietly curious, especially about humans and how they form communities - something she never had. She relates strongly to those who are misunderstood or shunned and often watches over them in secret. Part of her still longs to belong to the world of beasts, but she fears rejection too much to return.)

Abilities

Yueying can observe people's dreams and negative thoughts, she's able to manipulate the person's thoughts into healthier ones by acting as a voice in the mind of someone. (called mind manipulation). Yueying is able to transform into a more feral form; which would make her (slightly) more bigger than her two-legged form which is her casual. Yueying's element is associated with fire which is ironic, considering her full alignment with the moon; She has flame powers but she never uses it (uses it during perhaps?))

Backstory

Yueying hatched alone in the Moon Rabbit Palace, which was the only civilization on the moon. Unlike the moon rabbits, she was a Qilin - a powerful and unique beast. But instead of being revered, she was feared. Her appearance was considered frightening or demonic by the others, leading to her complete social rejection. She grew up isolated and raised herself because nobody else would. One day, without warning, Yueying was transported to Earth, arriving somewhere in mainland China. The sudden change forced her to adapt quickly. On Earth, she had to hide from humans, knowing that her form and presence might terrify them aswell as her being captured. Even in beast society, she was seen as a pariah; many believed Qilin were supposed to be noble and beautiful, not haunting or cursed-looking like her. She earned the title “Qilin of Neglect” because she was so often cast aside or avoided. Ironically, she came to represent companionship - specifically, the feeling of being there for others when no one else will. Her blessing gives people comfort during times of deep loneliness. Yueying herself remained alone, giving others what she could never receive. Over time, this contradiction damaged her self-image and sense of identity.

Eventually, Yueying fled both beast and Qilin society, choosing to vanish from their worlds entirely. But, in this iteration, she stayed.

Key Event of Backstory

As a young Qilin, Yueying once hid in an alleyway during a storm in Shanghai, terrified and starving. A foreign human, a stranger from outside the region, found her and gave her food and coverage from the pouring rain. This act of kindness deeply affected her; Most beasts despised humans and would refer to them as "mudmen" plural. Yueying felt detached from that cultural idea. She became envious of the emotional closeness that humans shared and grew remorseful over how different her life was. It really set her much more apart from the beasts.)

Communication

Yueying's first language is Chinese, but she's able to speak enough English; She is capable of understanding human speech by using different gestures (such as nods, nudges, nuzzles, pushes, growling, whimpering, purring, laughing, pointing with nose, etc.) to express her thoughts if she doesn't feel like saying anything.
