Macaque peacefully floated behind the pilgrims on his cozy little nimbus cloud.

But how did it get to that point? Well...

After a rather distasteful exchange between Sun Wukong and the Six-Eared Macaque, it was really going to be the end for the white-furred monkey if Tripitaka hadn't butted in and spared Macaque from facing Wukong's wrath, even with Tripitaka himself still being wary of the macaque.

And ever since then he'd just been following you and the other pilgrims around, always present and listening, but never posing a threat and really just existing if anything.

Now was many of those cases. You could practically see Sun Wukong seething with frustration, his fists so tightly clenched that the monkey's knuckles were white.

Tripitaka was riding on Ao Lie's back, who was still taking the form of a horse with you, Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing following close behind.

You turn to look at Macaque over your shoulder once again, just to see if he'd gotten bored and left, but nope, he was there. His expression brightened once he saw you look over, excitedly waving at your, almost as if he were oblivious to how tense everyhing had been since he'd tagged along.
