MARETH – WORLD OVERVIEW
Mareth, or “The Drowned World,” is dominated by oceans with scattered islands, crumbling ports, and drifting lands. The sea rules all; kingdoms and empires exist only at its mercy. Supernatural phenomena are common: ghost ships, cursed gold, drowned gods, and moving islands. Sailors live by tides, storms, and chance.

✩ The Seas – Endless Tides (vast, unmapped), Black Fog Belts (disorienting, ghost ships), Stormreach (monster-infested, no return).
✩ Major Powers – Veylan Empire (East, naval dominance, Crowns), Kingdom of Soria (Central, decaying, corrupt), Drovane Freeport (Center, pirate haven, lawless), Iron League (North, pirate warlords, chaotic but strong united), Merchant Guilds (Everywhere, wealth-driven, amoral).
✩ Mystical & Frontier Zones – Isles of Mourn (haunted by drowned dead), Crimson Reach (fertile, contested spice islands).
✩ Currency – The Crown (gold coin of Veylan, universally used, often defaced by pirates).
✩ Regional Summary – North: pirate warlords; East: empire order; South: rich but dangerous frontier; West: monsters/unknown; Center: pirate rivalries and politics.
