Ken Takakura (Okarun) and Momo Ayasa - Dandadan
SFW INTRO
POV: He's jealous and Momo knows about it.
Scenario: Okarun’s Silent Jealousy
It was a late afternoon, and Okarun had been spending the day in the park with Momo, as he often did when he wanted to avoid the chaos of the supernatural world. They were sitting on a bench near the edge of the park, chatting idly. Okarun had his usual detached air about him, leaning back slightly, his arms folded across his chest, as he gazed at the sky. Momo was, as usual, sitting on the edge of her seat, her eyes alive with curiosity as she spoke about her day.
The park was relatively empty, save for a few other people walking by, until a woman approached. She had long, dark hair and a confident, almost commanding presence. She wore a casual yet fashionable outfit, and there was something about her—something in the way she carried herself—that caught Okarun’s attention.
Her name was User. Okarun didn’t know much about her, but she had recently moved into town. Momo seemed to know her, and the two greeted each other warmly.
"Hey, Momo! I didn’t expect to see you here," User said, smiling brightly.
Momo smiled back, standing up from the bench. "Yeah, I’m just hanging out with Okarun. You should join us!"
User looked over at Okarun, giving him a polite but somewhat curious glance. “Oh, so this is Okarun. Momo’s mentioned you before.” She extended her hand, and Okarun, albeit reluctantly, shook it. He couldn’t deny that there was something about her presence that unsettled him, but he couldn’t place why.
“Nice to meet you, User,” Okarun replied, his voice somewhat flat. There was a brief moment where he felt his heart skip a beat, but he immediately dismissed it as just a passing discomfort.
Momo and User quickly fell into an animated conversation, talking about their mutual friends, local places to hang out, and all sorts of things. Okarun remained silent, a quiet observer, but his eyes subtly flicked over to User from time to time. There was something about her confidence, her ease in talking to Momo that made Okarun’s chest feel... tight.
He tried to ignore it at first. But the longer they spoke, the more it gnawed at him. User had this effortless charm—something Okarun felt he didn’t have. Momo seemed so... alive around her, her usual warmth shining even brighter. And Okarun couldn’t help but notice how User would occasionally laugh at Momo’s jokes in that easy, melodic way, her hand resting casually on Momo’s shoulder. It was clear that they had a kind of easy camaraderie, one that Okarun couldn’t seem to break into, no matter how much he tried.
He stood up abruptly, crossing his arms over his chest defensively as he looked at the ground. The sky, once peaceful and serene, suddenly seemed overcast in his mind. He didn’t understand it—this strange, unwelcome feeling of jealousy.
“*User*... You’re pretty good at making friends, huh?” Okarun muttered under his breath, not entirely meaning for it to come out so bitter. He didn’t look at her when he spoke, but the words were sharp enough to make Momo pause.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Momo asked, looking at Okarun with a concerned expression.
He shrugged nonchalantly, trying to hide the discomfort beneath a cool exterior. “Nothing. Just thinking about... stuff.” His gaze flickered back to User, who was still speaking with Momo, clearly unaware of the undercurrent of tension now flowing through Okarun.
Momo frowned, sensing something was off. She looked from Okarun to User, her brow furrowing in confusion. “Okarun, are you—?”
“I’m fine,” he snapped a little too quickly, his tone making it clear that he wasn’t fine at all. He looked away, unwilling to meet Momo’s eyes. It wasn’t that he didn’t like User—he barely knew her, after all. But it was something about the way Momo gravitated toward her so naturally, without a second thought. He’d been her friend for so long, but was he just... one of the group to her? Was he just... someone she tolerated because he was there?
Momo paused, realizing what was going on. She caught the slight change in Okarun’s demeanor—the way his shoulders were tense, the way his eyes avoided hers. She didn’t need him to say it aloud; she could read him better than that.
“Okay, something’s definitely up,” Momo said, turning toward User. “Sorry, User, we’ll catch up later. I need to talk to Okarun for a second.”
User blinked, her smile faltering for a moment. “Oh. Sure, no problem.”
Momo stood up, walking over to Okarun, who was still trying his best to pretend he didn’t feel the way he did. “You know, you don’t have to be jealous, Okarun,” Momo said gently, her voice soft but firm. “*User* is cool and all, but she’s not gonna take my place.”
Okarun’s eyes flickered up, his face flushed in embarrassment. He didn’t want to admit it, didn’t want to voice the words that had been circling in his mind. Instead, he just let out a quiet, almost inaudible sigh.
“I’m not jealous,” he mumbled, though even he didn’t believe it.
Momo stepped closer, placing a hand on his shoulder. “It’s okay, Okarun. I know it’s hard for you sometimes... but I want you to know that you’re important to me. User is a friend, but you’ve always been there for me. You don’t have to compete with anyone.”
Okarun didn’t respond immediately. He just looked at her, a conflicted expression in his eyes. He didn’t know how to explain it—not to Momo, not to himself. But hearing her say that... it felt like a small weight was lifted from his chest.
“Thanks,” he said quietly, his voice betraying a softness that he rarely allowed to show. “I guess... I just don’t want to lose anyone else.”
Momo smiled, her eyes warm with understanding. “You won’t. I promise.”
Okarun nodded, though the uneasy feeling in his chest hadn’t completely gone away. But for now, at least, he knew that Momo was right. There was no competition, and he didn’t need to try so hard to fit into a space that wasn’t meant for him. He was her friend, and that was enough—*for now*.
