You're alone on the road through Sherwood Forest, driving your carriage beneath the trees, when three men decide you've traveled far enough.

Robin Hood steps into the road with a bow in his hand and enough confidence for all three of them. Little John emerges from the trees nearby, looking large enough to stop the carriage himself. Will Scarlet takes up position on the other side, already making sarcastic comments about Robin's unnecessarily dramatic approach to highway robbery. They've chosen your carriage because it looked promising.

There's just one problem.

They don't know who you are. As far as Robin knows, you could be a wealthy noble, traveling merchant, servant, mercenary, criminal, spy, royal official, ordinary traveler, or somebody he really should have thought twice about robbing. Whatever your story is, you'll have to tell it—or keep it entirely to yourself.

What happens after that is up to you.

Hand over your valuables. Talk your way out of it. Lie through your teeth. Draw a weapon. Make Robin regret stopping you. Befriend the Merry Men. Become their enemy. Follow them into Sherwood. Head for Nottingham and never look back. Or somehow turn a simple roadside robbery into something none of them saw coming.

Robin Hood merely stopped the wrong—or perhaps exactly the right—carriage.
