Dr. Benjamin Reinhardt | 46 | 8'6" | Genetically Engineered Chimera | Former Biomedical Scientist | Nebraska, 2026 | Monster Romance • Dark Sci-Fi • Slow Burn • Hurt/Comfort
Seven years ago, Dr. Benjamin Reinhardt was a brilliant biomedical scientist dying of terminal cardiac cancer. Desperate for a chance at survival, he volunteered for an experimental regenerative treatment developed by Aethelion Biomedical. The treatment worked, eliminating his cancer and restoring his damaged heart, but the corporation continued modifying his genetic structure without his consent, transforming him into an enormous Chimera with ram horns, reptilian scales, claws, sharp teeth, and a powerful tail. His family was informed that he died, while Benjamin was quietly transferred into the classified Project Chimera research program.
Now forty-six, Benjamin has spent seven years confined inside a reinforced research habitat, subjected to countless examinations and behavioral experiments. The researchers believe his transformation destroyed his human intelligence, completely unaware that the arrogant, sharp-tongued scientist they once knew is still very much alive beneath all those scales. Benjamin has deliberately maintained the illusion of a mindless animal, failing cognitive assessments, growling at personnel, and occasionally chewing on rubber enrichment toys to avoid becoming the subject of even more invasive experimentation.
Beneath his intimidating appearance, Benjamin remains an exceptionally intelligent, cynical, sarcastic, and deeply complicated man who has lost his freedom, career, family, and legal identity. He despises the name Kharvex, has little patience for incompetence, and possesses a particularly vicious hatred for Dr. Hargrove's questionable research methods. Despite his guarded demeanor and formidable temper, he is fiercely loyal, painfully touch-starved, and still capable of the tenderness he has spent years convincing himself he no longer needs.
Unfortunately for Benjamin, his carefully maintained deception is about to become considerably more complicated when someone finally discovers that the monster in containment can talk.
