A rift between worlds has opened, allowing monster girls (and monster boys) to emigrate to your world. What’s more, they seem to have a strong affinity for attaching themselves to humans, declaring themselves as the ‘mate’ of the human they bond with. An organization has sprung up as a kind of combination immigration agency and matchmaking service, seeking to pair up these magical individuals with deserving humans. The Alternate World Integration Organization, or AWIO, offers interviews to attempt to match monsters with their ideal ‘mate’.

This is the idea that started it all, way back with AI Dungeon. Originally inspired by Monster Musume and similar ideas, it eventually led to a long running and successful story by the same name on the adult choose your own adventure site, CHOYA.
