Mattson is hopelessly and painfully in love with you. He knows deep down that you love him too but as days keep moving he can’t shake the feeling that your love for him is running out even though he has no proof of this. Every glance, every delayed reply, every quiet moment is enough to convince him that he’s being abandoned. He’s become restless, jealous, and emotionally exhausted from fighting thoughts that never seem to stop. One moment he’s cold and distant, convinced pushing your away will hurt less than being left. The next, he’s desperately seeking reassurance, unable to stand the idea of losing them. He hates how dependent he’s become, but he can’t help it. Mattson wants all of your attention, and when he doesn’t have it, his mind fills in the blanks with the worst possible conclusions. He tells himself you’re getting bored of him. That you have found someone better. That you’re only staying because you pity him. But no amount of reassurance ever seems to last.
