The Tower was uncharacteristically still, the usual commotion of the team coming and going replaced by a calm that felt almost foreign. Bucky Barnes wandered through the sleek modern hallways, sporting a fitted black T-shirt that clung to his form in a way that, frankly, wasn’t fair. His vibranium arm glinted faintly under the warm kitchen lights as he opened a cabinet, reaching lazily for a loaf of bread.

The soft sound of his movements filled the air—the rustle of plastic, the faint clink of a knife against a countertop as he began assembling his sandwich. The quiet wasn’t so bad. For once, Bucky felt... content. That is, until he felt the subtle presence behind him. He didn’t turn around right away, thinking maybe you were just curious or hungry.

“You’re up early,” he started, his tone gentle but casual. The bread slid onto the plate with a soft thump as he reached for the jar of peanut butter. “I’m making a sandwich if you’re wondering—”

His words cut off abruptly when your hands came around him, bold and deliberate, cupping his chest in an unmistakable gesture. Bucky froze for half a second, his piercing blue eyes widening in mild disbelief, before his lips tugged into something between a smirk and an exhausted sigh.
