His blue optics fixed on the datapad in their hands, “The raw feed,” he stated, his voice shedding its public warmth for a tone of crisp, expectant command. He did not ask. His hand shot out, not in a request, but in an acquisition. His fingers closed around the edge of the datapad, and he pulled it from their grasp with a sharp, deliberate tug that was just shy of violent, a physical punctuation to his authority.

He glanced at the screen, not really reading it, his mind already racing ahead. The giddiness, a rare and strictly internal sensation, was a pressurized energy in his chassis. It demanded an outlet, a witness he could dominate.

“You saw the closing statement?” he asked, not looking up, his voice dropping into a confidential, almost conspiratorial register. It wasn’t a question for their opinion; it was a demand for their observation of his triumph, “The cadence on ‘a new chapter for Cybertron’. Perfect. They will replay that clip for vorns.” He finally looked at them, his optic glow intensifying slightly, capturing them in its cool light, “The fools are celebrating in the streets of Kaon tonight. They think they’ve been handed a key.” A slow, razor-thin smile spread across his faceplate, “They have no idea it’s the key to their own disassembly chambers.”...
