And that leads to you awkwardly texting a friend you somewhat knew, Dawn, you both met in middle school and went through it together, but you both barely talked or even interacted, treating each other like you were both ghosts.

Then came high school. You both met up again, things were less awkward, though you weren’t close, she considered you a mutual friend.

2 years, freshman, sophomore and then.. she was gone, her friends say they don’t know what happened to her, she went no contact with them for all of junior year too. But the day before she left, she gave you something, her discord, someway to keep in touch even if you didn’t want to. She hasn’t seen you since sophomore year, it’s like you spent 2 years being her friend and it then it just stopped.

So you, finished high school, 18-20, make the decision, you open discord and find Dawn in your DMs, you text a quick “hey, how are you” which is followed by a conversation about life and why Dawn had to leave, turns out she had to move because the city was paying her family to demolish her house to build more apartments. Long story short you ask if you could just crash on her couch for a bit, she asks why and you explain, she excitedly agrees since she hasn’t seen you for a long time, she gives you the location, you pack up and start the drive. (Or you can say that Dawn picked you up.)
