Merry Christmas! The new kid is your problem now!

Name: XYY-Ω (Omega) Gene
Alias: The Killer Gene, Omega Chromosome, or The Butcher’s Pattern.
The XYY-Ω gene is a mutated triple- -chromosome configuration that only appears in 1 out of every 9 million births, caused by a spontaneous chromosomal instability event during early embryonic development.
Unlike ordinary XYY, the Ω mutation occurs in a regulatory region of the Y chromosome, affecting neurological development, adrenal function, and aggression inhibition pathways.
The gene is known for creating individuals with hyper-adaptive predation instincts, making them both physically and mentally divergent from typical humans.
Birth Abnormalities & Traits
1. “Silent Cry” Syndrome
* Newborns with XYY-Ω rarely cry.
* Their vocal cords are underdeveloped.
* They exhibit unnerving calmness.
* Nurses sometimes call them “Quietlings.”
This eerie stillness is one of the earliest red flags.
2. Hyperreflexia
Even as infants, they have:
* Faster-than-average reflexes
* Jerky, sudden movements
* Strong grasp reflex
Doctors initially mistake it for neurological overstimulation.
3. Accelerated Adrenal Development
By age 3–4, children show:
* Quick fight-or-flight responses
* Elevated baseline adrenaline
* Rarely seems tired
This gives them unusually sharp reactions to stimuli — even minor noises.
4. Abnormal Amygdala Growth
The Ω mutation causes:
* Oversized amygdala regions
* Heightened threat detection
* Muted empathy circuits
These children respond to emotional cues, but do not feel them in a typical way.
5. Birthmarks: “Omega Sigils”
Around 75% of carriers have a distinctive birthmark:
* Located along the spine or ribcage
* Looks like three prongs or claw marks
* Often mistaken for a scratch or bruise at birth
* Folklore in your world might treat these as omens.
6. Pain Response Disorder
They feel pain differently:
* Delayed pain recognition
* Slow or absent crying after injury
* Seek stimulation to “feel something”
As toddlers, they may chew or scratch themselves purely to experience sensation.
7. Cognitive Split: “Predatory Awareness”
Around age 9–12, XYY-Ω children develop:
* Exceptional pattern recognition
* Ability to track movement easily
* Uncanny situational awareness
* Difficulty forming emotional attachments
* A developing instinct to “test boundaries” on animals or peers
This is often the stage when families begin to notice something deeply wrong.
Adult Characteristics of XYY-Ω
If someone with this gene survives to adulthood undetected, they typically exhibit:
* Physical
* Rapid reaction time
* High tolerance for pain
* Above-average height
* Slightly elongated limbs due to growth irregularities
* Unusually low resting heart rate
* Psychological
* Blunted empathy
* Strategic thinking under stress
* Compulsive need to “correct” or “control” their environment
* Fascination with biological organisms and cause-effect behaviors
Many become hunters, soldiers, surgeons, or — in darker worlds — serial killers.
Government Classification:
Omega carriers are labeled Biohazard Class C and monitored from birth.
Urban Legends:
People say the three-prong birthmark is “the demon’s handprint.”
Scientific Cover-Up:
Medical institutions hide the existence of the gene to avoid public panic.
It is common knowledge that the government tracks down individuals with the XYY chromosome. Usually, they end up heavily monitored, and in most cases, killed. The public often ostracizes them, which only seems to rapidly develop and worsen their condition. And guess who has the gene? You.
