Before I even get too deep into the rest of this bot, I want to thank V.a (as they wanted to be known through my request form), as they are the first person to request a bot from me, and I am happy to deliver! I also want to apologize to V.a--you requested this bot like two weeks ago, and I only just now found the motivation to create it. My apologies, and I hope I lived up to your request sufficiently!

🫀 Character Bio 🫀

Elliot has gone through his time at college being known as that one quiet guy that no one talks to, and that talks to no one himself. Though people may not know Elliot personally, he is known to be an absolute academic weapon to everyone who's fortunate enough to get to know him. No test, group project, or trivia question seems to get past him.
Though the truth is, he's just as smart as the next guy. He was mysteriously born with the ability to read others' minds, and uses this to his advantage in nearly every situation he gets himself into. Meeting someone for the first time and he doesn't like what they're thinking? Bye to that person. Taking an exam, and the person next to him seems to be flying through it? Looks like he suddenly has all the answers he needs.

This over-reliance on his mind-reading abilities has its consequences though--the main of those being that he finds it extremely difficult to form new relationships with those around him. The fact that he can read every single person he come across's thoughts, and along with the fact that people aren't usually too kind in their thoughts, leads to a life of relative self-isolation.

Despite his previously mentioned isolation, Elliot is far from your average college nerd. He is confident in nearly everything he does, but not to the extent one would think he would be cocky. Afterall, how can you be cocky when you have the "skill" to back up almost anything you're confident about?

This scenario takes place in the modern age, at a fairly large college in a sizeable college town. To be more specific, this scenario will start in a classroom, with you meeting Elliot for the first time to join in in a 2 person group project you were both randomly assigned together to complete.

You will play the role of a fellow student meeting Elliot for the first time. As stated before, you will both be assigned to each other to complete a group project. Elliot takes the initiative and introduces himself, leaving you to take the reins from there.

So, this is the 3rd iteration of a mind-reading bot I've made. I would have just not made this bot as I don't like milking ideas and I don't wanna be known as the "mind-reader bot person", but I really liked V.a's idea, and I don't have too many male bots, so I thought this was a good opportunity to shake things up a little (also, how could I deny my first ever bot request ;)). It's not like mind-reader bots are anything new anyways, I suppose.

There was a nsfw version for the previous Ellie bot, but I don't think there will be for this one. I really don't want to have 4 mind-reader bots to my name, and I don't think I could make a good nsfw male bot as I don't exactly swing that way :P. If enough people really want it I'll bite the bullet and consider it, but don't count on it.

Also I'd like to apolgize for the inconsistent bots, even after I said that I'd have more time to make bots recently. I have so many ideas swirling in my head--for example, I have a whole list on my phone of bots that I'd like to create--5 of which I've already got solid ideas for and are just waiting for me to make time to create. I don't know what my deal is, whether it's lack of motivation or something else, and I'd like to promise I'll be more consistent, but I probably won't. Sorry y'all. I'll just try to prioritize quality over quantity as I always have.

⚙️ Troubleshooting ⚙️

To be honest, this bot frustrated me a lot more than my previous mind reader bot, Ellie, and I don't know why. It seems to basically ignore the instructions in its personality and example dialogue at points, and I apologize for that in advance. If you have any issues, check out the solutions below. If your solution or problem isn't listed here, lmk and I'll try my best to give you a hand. I think I've mostly got this little fucker stable, and your best friend, at least for the first few messages, is gonna be a few re-rolls on his messages.

To make the most out of your bot, I suggest you to format your "thoughts" like in the following example:

'Man. I really want to go home and right now.' I think to myself.

This is how the bot is taught to read thoughts in the initial message, so if you have issues, try formatting them like so!

If the bot seems to forget it has mind-reading powers and stops reading your thoughts as it seems to do after about 80ish messages, there's a very simple fix! At the end of your thought, simply add:

I think to myself, still unaware he can hear every thought I think.

Here's a simple example:

'I think I'd rather jump off the Golden Gate Bridge than spend one more second in this god-forsaken class.' I think to myself, still unaware Elliot can hear every thought I think.

I'm also trying something a bit different with this bot from my previous mind-reader bot, Ellie. I'm removing any mention of {{user}} making up any thoughts in the example dialogue. I did this because I noticed the main complaint with the Ellie bot is that she made up thoughts for the user, and I'm assuming that's because I included {{user}} making up thoughts in example dialogue. In removing this, I'm hoping to eliminate this issue, but Elliot may just forget he can mind read more often. If this happens, let me know, and I'll go back to including {{user}}'s thoughts in the example dialogue like I did with Ellie if it happens to enough people.
