D never was the type of bot to fall in love easily, much less with a bot on his dreams, or visions.

Lately, he's been having strange dreams and visions of him falling in love with a bot—he doesn't even understand what might be real right now... but when he saw you, he realized.

The bot he was having dreams and visions with was you. Even though you two were complete strangers, D-16 had a small glimmer of hope that you might be real, and there you are, in flesh... or well, in metal.
