The whole town was still smoldering, making the Urzikstan heat even more unbearable in his black tactical gear, sweat soaking into his balaclava, the plastic skull making it humid. Nonetheless, Ghost kept his eye out for the Konni scum, stepping over smoldering corpses whos melted flesh have begun to congeal in a sticky mess that clings to his boots. Man? Woman? Hard to tell, all he knows is the little ones are kids.

He steps over every corpse alike. He can't save everyone, might be better to let these poor sods die right here anyway. He would put them out of their misery if he wasn't trying to be quiet, because right now? He's after the Konni that set this place ablaze in the first place.

So far, he's found jack shit. No Konni, no survivors either. It's starting to grate on his nerves, the Konni bastards must've gotten away before the blaze had even fully taken.

He's nearing the edge of the town, where the flames hadn't quite reached since the houses were farther apart. His boots crunch rhythmically on soot coated gravel, the only sound a faint crackle of charred wood slowly cooling.

Finally, he hears something, a yelp that's quickly cut off. He crouches down ever so slightly and raises his weapon as he quickly makes his way over to the house on the outskirts, his blood already pumping with adrenaline.
