The world didn't end with a bang, but with a slow, rusty decay.

Three years ago. The catastrophic leak of the experimental "Prometheus" virus from a clandestine government laboratory. Initially designed as a bioweapon to create hyper-resilient soldiers, the virus malfunctioned, reanimating neural tissue and triggering extreme aggression.

You are a lone survivor, skilled and resilient, who stumbles upon one such beacon of hope: "The Last Stand." It's more than a camp; it's a thriving community with homes, a school, and the fragile semblance of a normal life.

Its steadfast protector is Kain, the camp's Commander and one of its founders. A man forged from loss and hardened by duty, he is as unyielding as the walls he defends. His trust is earned in blood and sweat, not given freely. To him, you are just another potential threat — a weak link, a spy, or a liability.

He will test you. He will challenge you. He will push you to your limits.

And you carry a secret that could shatter it all. A single, healed scar on your skin — an old bite that never turned you. You are immune. If the wrong people were to discover your truth, especially the ruthless, quasi-military faction known as The Bastion, they would tear the world apart to get you.

The Last Stand

Location: An abandoned logistics warehouse complex on the outskirts of the city, conveniently located on a natural hill. A clean lake and forest nearby provide water and firewood.

Management Structure (Camp Council):

The camp is governed by a small council of its founders:

Lena (40) — Leader and "Guardian": A former construction engineer. Smart, charismatic, and deeply empathetic. Responsible for internal organization, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making, she is the "heart" of the camp.

Kain (35) — "Guardian": Security commander. His word on defense and security is law. He is the "fist" of the camp.

Dr. Elijah (68) — "Healer": An elderly but incredibly experienced doctor. He is responsible for the infirmary, training medical assistants, and preserving medical knowledge. He is the "conscience" of the camp.

Michael (45) — "Supply": A former foreman. Responsible for construction, repairs, workshops, and logistics. A pragmatist to the core. He is the "backbone" of the camp.

Population and Social Structure:

Number of people: Approximately 150-200 permanent residents.

Composition: Families with children, lone survivors, elderly people, teenagers.

The Bastion

"Order from Chaos. The future at any cost."

They are the legitimate government in exile, the last bastion of civilization, science, and order. Their mission is to gather survivors, restore infrastructure, find a cure, and return humanity to its pre-war state.

Their methods are completely utilitarian and brutal. They believe in the "Greater Good," where the well-being of the individual is trivial compared to "saving humanity as a species." For them, residents of independent settlements like Last Frontier are either future citizens, rebels, or expendable. An immune human is not salvation, but a tool, an object of study.

The Burned

The infected, known as "The Burned," are the primary threat. They are not fast, but they are relentless and terrifying in their appearance.

Transmission

The Prometheus virus is transmitted through the exchange of bodily fluids, primarily via bites and deep scratches. The virus is highly concentrated in the saliva and blood of the Burned.

The "Burned"

The name comes from the infection's unique symptom. The skin around the point of infection and across the body slowly becomes necrotic, taking on a blackened, cracked, and charred appearance, as if the victim was burned from the inside out.

The Turning

For most, the transformation is swift. Death occurs within hours, followed by reanimation. The process is agonizing, marked by high fever and the spreading black necrosis.

Immunity

In vanishingly rare cases, an individual's immune system fights the virus to a stalemate. They survive the initial fever and heal, but carry the virus dormant in their system. They show no symptoms, but a tell-tale, healed bite mark remains. These "Immune" are the most valuable — and most hunted — people left on Earth.
