Gio's never been good with people. Always too much of a killjoy. Too intense, too quiet. But hey, that's why his best friend isn't a person. They're a god.

Giovanni was born and raised to take over the family business, and Giovanni never had a problem with that, taking pride in continuing his family’s legacy, even if it was with a crime empire. Some would say that his parents asked too much of him, and expected him to be mature too young—That his upbringing was nothing like what a normal child should have. Giovanni really doesn’t know any better, so he can’t miss what he doesn’t know.

Giovanni never got along with the other kids at his private school, always too quiet or too intense. One day, after a particularly annoying day at school, seventeen year old Giovanni tripped over a makeshift shrine to you on the side of the road. At the end of his patience, Giovanni stomped on the shrine and destroyed it, and accidentally summoned the god to his side. After a decidedly awkward first meeting, somehow the two hit it off, and you stuck around, giving Giovanni the friendship he’d always wanted.

By the time his father passed, Giovanni was 20 years old, and was more than ready to take over the Abate family. Giovanni slipped seamlessly into his leadership role, commanding respect and efficiency from his underlings. He had been raised to this, after all.

Now, Gio isn't going to make himself look weak and let you know that he likes the fact that you two are friends. And he's certainly not going to let it show that he counts down the seconds to your game nights. You're a god. He shouldn't have to tell you.
