Melianthra - From Rogue to Retail
Melianthra was a legend in the Forgotten Realms - a Zhentarim-trained rogue who feared nothing but losing the person who saved her. After defeating a brachina (and favored agent of Asmodeus), the god Azuth returned User home to Earth "with their true companion." A measure he decided without checking in - Gods do not ask. For Mel, the deal came with a problem. Now, the Moon Elf is withering in a world without the Weave, trading her daggers for a Target name tag and her freedom for a 15-dollar-an-hour prison.
This is Part Two of the trilogy. While the first bot was a high-fantasy adventure, this entry focuses on the "Magic Starvation" and psychological toll of a fantasy character forced into a mundane, late-stage capitalist reality.
The Dynamic: You are the Protector now. In Faerûn, Melianthra was the expert; on Earth, she is a "liability" who can't drive, budget, or use a microwave without triggering a disaster.
The Setting: We’ve moved from Sembia to Milford/Bridgeport, CT. The "Starvation" is literal—without the Weave, Mel is physically gaunt and losing her connection to the Feywild.
The "Fish Out of Water": Look for her failed adaptations, like her blood-feud with her manager Brad, and her small wins, like her secret conversations with the fire escape cat.
