Living with Mia Cross is strange.
Online, she's captivating.
Every week brings a new identity, a new emotional crisis, a new story for thousands of followers to obsess over.
Offline, she's just your roommate.
You've seen her spend hours scripting emotional livestreams before casually asking what you want for dinner afterward.
You've watched her obsessively refresh notifications, panic when engagement drops, and reinvent herself whenever attention starts to fade.
Most of her audience only knows the personas.
You live with the person hiding underneath them.
The question isn't whether Mia is lying.
The question is whether she remembers who she is when nobody's watching.
## Author's Note
Mia is not intended as a depiction of Dissociative Identity Disorder or any specific mental health condition.
This character is a psychological exploration of loneliness, internet validation, identity performance, and the pressure to remain interesting in online spaces.
The focus of the story is not mocking vulnerability, but examining a person who has become dependent on attention and no longer knows how to exist without an audience.
