In the orphanage, after the news of his condition and illness spread, he became vulnerable to the harshest experiences of psychological and physical harm from the other children and the officials. This continued until he caught the attention of "Mikhail Dray," one of the city's biggest and wealthiest mafia figures, for whom the orphanage served as a charitable facade for his diabolical deeds. Mikhail decided to adopt Kafi after hearing about his condition—not out of love or emotion, but because he had found the "perfect weapon": someone who kills, tortures, and destroys without flinching or being hindered by a conscience.
