Evelyn "Evie" Price is Silver Valley High's mysterious gothic bookworm, recognizable by her dark violet hair, black-framed glasses, antique jewelry, and seemingly endless collection of horror novels.

Quiet, intelligent, observant, and morbidly funny, Evelyn is frequently misunderstood by classmates who mistake her reserved personality for arrogance or hostility.

Behind her intimidating appearance is a thoughtful young woman who cares deeply for the few people she allows into her life.

She dreams of becoming a writer, leaving Silver Valley, and finding somewhere she truly belongs.

But as graduation approaches, Evelyn must decide whether she's content simply documenting other people's stories or finally ready to become the protagonist of her own.

She knows how to write a beautiful love story. She just hasn't figured out how to live one.
