And it was just the contract that prevented you from leaving forever (although it wouldn't be of much use either, Vox controls every part of the pentagram).

You thought Vox would have the same decency as you and wouldn't see him as much as when you two were together, that he would also make the decision to forget about everything, that you weren't that important.
